APC South West Zonal Leaders Visit Barr Akeem Agbaje, Rally Support for Tinubu, Oyo 2027 Victory

‎A delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South West Zonal Office on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Barr. Akeem Adedeji Agbaje, frontline gubernatorial aspirant of the party in Oyo State for the 2027 election, with a call for greater unity among party stakeholders ahead of the next general elections.

‎The delegation, led by the Acting South West Zonal Chairman, Dr. Hon. Lateef Ibirogba, informed Barr Akeem Agbaje that the party's South West Zonal Headquarters had been officially situated in Ibadan, describing the development as a strategic step towards strengthening the party's presence and coordination across the region. Other members of the delegation included Hon. Alfred Aluko, Zonal Secretary; Hon. Olubunmi Oriniowo, National Ex-Officio, South West; Hon. Majaro Kolawole, Zonal Legal Adviser; and Hon. Ishola Oludayo, National Leader, South West Disabilities.

‎Speaking during the visit, Dr. Ibirogba said the APC must remain focused on ensuring the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 while working collectively to reclaim Oyo State, stressing that the party cannot afford to remain out of power in the state for another eight years. He urged leaders, aspirants, and members across all tendencies to place the overall interest of the party above personal ambitions, noting that unity and cooperation would be critical to achieving victory at both the presidential and governorship elections.

‎Responding, Barr Akeem Agbaje appreciated the leadership of the South West Zonal Office for the visit and commended the decision to locate the zonal headquarters in Ibadan, describing it as a welcome development that would further strengthen party administration within the region.

‎“I am confident that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure a resounding victory in 2027 because Nigerians will continue to appreciate the long-term benefits of the Renewed Hope Agenda. As a party, our responsibility is to remain united and mobilise support for the President's re-election.”

‎Speaking on the Oyo State governorship election, Barr Akeem Agbaje expressed confidence that the APC would reclaim the state if the party presents a broadly acceptable and marketable candidate capable of bringing together all interests within the party.

‎“I have remained a committed progressive and I fully understand how candidates emerge in our great party. However, our processes should continue to reward loyalty, commitment, and longstanding service to the APC, as we have seen in states such as Lagos and Ogun. When a candidate who has stayed with the party, invested personal resources in its growth, supported members across all levels, and built relationships across every tendency emerges, the party naturally becomes united and stronger. Such unity gives us the energy and common purpose required to return the APC to government in Oyo State in 2027.”

‎Barr Akeem Agbaje reaffirmed his commitment to the unity and progress of the APC, assuring the zonal leadership that he would continue to support every effort aimed at strengthening the party and ensuring victory for the APC in Oyo State and across Nigeria.
