Barr Akeem Agbaje Celebrates 3SC Return to Continental Football
Barr. Akeem Adedeji Agbaje, frontline gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State for the 2027 election, has congratulated the management, players, coaching crew, and supporters of Shooting Stars Sports Club on the club’s qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup after 27 years.
In a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, Barr Agbaje described the achievement as a proud moment for Oyo State and a reward for the hard work, determination, and commitment shown by the club over the years.
He noted that the return of the Oluyole Warriors to continental football is a development that has been long awaited by football lovers and supporters across the state, adding that the qualification reflects renewed hope and growing confidence in the club’s future.
“The qualification of Shooting Stars Sports Club for the CAF Confederation Cup after 27 years is a remarkable achievement and a moment of joy for the people of Oyo State. The desire to see the Oluyole Warriors return to the continental stage has been on for a long time.”
The APC chieftain further stressed the importance of sports in youth engagement and development, noting that football and other sporting activities remain important tools for promoting discipline, talent discovery, economic opportunities, and social inclusion among young people.
Barr Akeem Agbaje, who reaffirmed his strong interest in youth development in Oyo State, stated that sustained investment in sports would continue to create opportunities for young talents while also projecting the image of the state positively at national and international levels.
