OPEN LETTER: INAOLAJI AKINLOYE WRITES GOVERNOR MAKINDE ON MATTERS ARISING


Dear Governor Seyi Makinde,


I write to you with deep concern and a sense of responsibility as a citizen and stakeholder in Oyo State.


Oyo State comprises 33 local government areas. If the sum of ₦1 billion is allocated to each LGA specifically for rural road construction—roads that connect our farmlands to the city centers—that would amount to ₦33 billion. This initiative alone would significantly boost our local economy, ease agricultural transportation, and improve the living conditions of our rural dwellers.


With the remaining ₦30.4 billion, if it is deemed absolutely necessary, you may proceed with the renovation of the Government House and its perimeter fencing. However, transparency must be non-negotiable—the public deserves to know who the contractors are, the scope of work, and the justification for the cost.


Sir, please do not spend the entire ₦63.4 billion on the Government House renovation. Only two weeks ago, you yourself acknowledged the hunger and hardship being experienced by Nigerians, which you also said will affect the fate of the APC in 2027. It is therefore important not to worsen the current realities of our people.


If indeed you are who many people say you are—“Makinde ore mekunu,” “Fogbontolu,”—then please let your actions reflect compassion, prudence, and people-centered governance.


This is my humble and sincere advice, sir. History will remember every leader—for good or for bad. I hope your name is remembered for standing with the people, especially in difficult times like these.

*TESLIM FOLARIN IS A WRONG AND A BAD CHOICE TO LEAD OUR RECONCILIATION COMMITTEE IN OYO STATE APC

When the cause of a problem and division in the party claims to have been saddled with the responsibility of reconciliation in out party, it leads to predictable failed attempt and would only compound the crisis.
