NYSC@52: Oyo coordinator lauds stakeholders’ contributions
leads facility tour of ongoing projects at camp
The Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Oyo State, Comrade Odoba Abel Oche has lauded the contributions of stakeholders in commemoration of the 52nd anniversary of the scheme.
Odoba stated this when he led the entire members of staff and Corps members serving in the state with activities which include a road walk and facility tour of the ongoing projects at the NYSCThe commemoration programme themed ‘Unity in diversity; our prosperity’ commenced with road work which took off from the NYSC Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi-Gate, Ibadan and made a symbolic stop at the office of the Governor of Oyo State where the State Coordinator, Chief Odoba Abel Oche, while addressing the forum acknowledged the efforts of the founding fathers of the National Youth Service Corps, a scheme he said has contributed immeasurably to the survival of Nigeria.
He equally applauded the managers of the scheme for their unwavering dedication and commitment towards the growth of the scheme which has continued to be on the lip of every citizen. He also reaffirmed NYSC’s unwavering commitment to national integration and socio-economic development.
Odoba commended the Oyo State Government, led by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for creating an enabling environment for Corps members to thrive. He appreciated the Governor for placing Corps’ welfare as top priority which enabled the state to remain a Pacesetter among committee of states.
He reiterated the commitment of NYSC to continue to support the state in the needed areas. “The Government and the people of Oyo State have done much for us, they have been instrumental to the success of the Scheme in the State. NYSC Oyo will continue to strive hard to ensure that our impact is felt in all sectors and areas needed” he said.
The climax of the anniversary commemoration was the facility tour of the ongoing transformation projects at the NYSC Oyo Permanent Orientation Camp, Iseyin where the retired director, NYSC Southwest, Mr. Amusan Oluwole Julius and other notable stakeholders joined the NYSC Oyo management to inspect the ongoing 5,000-capacity multipurpose hall nearing completion, as well as newly completed 10-room staff quarters.
