Prof. Akande harps on fairness,equity towards women

 As the world celebrates the International Women's Day today, Former Chairman Of Nigerian Communications Commission( NCC ),Prof Adeolu Akande  celebrates mothers, wives, sisters  the world over ,says " Without women, there cannot be men".


He was quoted as saying , in a statement  released today in Abuja. According to him ,the oft - quoted statement that " behind a successful man ,there must be a woman ' is not  a flippant  statement but a statement of fact.


Prof Akande noted that every society has a duty to protect women and ensure that they are treated with fairness and equity.


Prof Akande stated that the notion of celebrating Women's Day is to call attention to the challenges women face in many  societies and the need to take proactive measures to protect them.


 While congratulating women on the auspicious occasion of International Women's Day, he emphasized on  the fruits that synergy between both genders bears as we all need ourselves for the society to prosper .


He admonished women all over the world to seize this rare opportunity to pray to God for peace and harmony across the globe, as it is not just a coincidence that  Christians and Muslims are fasting as we celebrate this year's International Women'sDay.

Prof Akande Congratulates Folarin, Ibikunle on Appointments

 Former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, has congratulated Senator Teslim Folarin on his elevation to the position of Aare Alasa of Ibadanland and Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle on his appointment as Executive Director (Commercial and Environmental Development) in the South West Development Commission. In a statement released by his media office, Professor Akande noted that the elevation of Senator Folarin to the position of Aare Alasa of Ibadanland is a call to further service for the development of Ibadanland.
