“Today, I am pleased to participate in the celebration of International Women's Day. Women are essential to our nation's progress, and it is our responsibility to ensure their empowerment and safeguard their rights. It is inspiring to see women overcoming obstacles and achieving success. As a community, we must prioritize the protection of women's rights, starting with the rights of the girl child. We must eradicate genital mutilation, combat abuse, and discourage early child marriage. Women who are empowered, have protected rights, and have access to equal opportunities are vital to building a strong and prosperous Nation.

 Former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, has congratulated Senator Teslim Folarin on his elevation to the position of Aare Alasa of Ibadanland and Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle on his appointment as Executive Director (Commercial and Environmental Development) in the South West Development Commission.
