Agbaje Felicitates Muslims on Ramadan, Urges Love and Prayers

Chieftain of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Barrister Akeem Agbaje has felicitated with Muslims on the auspicious occasion of another Ramadan fast. In his Ramadan message to Muslim faithfuls which was released by his media office, he charged Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan for spiritual rebirth and to pray for the country.  “I want to thank Almighty Allah for the grace to see the holy Month of Ramadan. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa who was impeached as speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly on January 13, 2025, is set to return as the new Speaker Obasa's security details has now been restored just as those of Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, have been withdrawn. Meranda was Obasa’s deputy before the impeachment. After his removal, the house unanimously elected Meranda, making her the first female to occupy the position in the history of the state. MohBad: Nurse to face trial as court clears Naira Marley, Sam Larry, PrimeBoy

 The Magistrate Court sitting in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos State, on Tuesday, acquitted popular musician, Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly called Naira Marley, in relation to the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad. Channels TV reports that Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, who read and implemented the legal advice issued by the Directorate of Public Prosecution, Lagos, said that Naira Marley had no case to answer. Alongside Naira Marley, the court reportedly freed music promoter, Samson Balogun, known as Sam Larry; Owodunni Ibrahim, also called Primeboy; and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.The DPP, however, said it shall be prosecuting the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, and one of Mohbad’s friends, Ayobami Sadiq for the offence of reckless and negligent acts contrary to Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015. The duo will be prosecuted at the magistrate court.

Speaking on Thursday at the launch of his autobiography, A Journey in Service, and the unveiling of his presidential library in Abuja, Babangida admitted that while the election was credible, his administration could not complete the process due to prevailing national challenges.Undoubtedly, credible, free, and fair elections were held on June 12, 1993. NNPCL denies selling substandard fuel, says PMS sourced from Dangote

 The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has denied claims that it sells substandard petrol with a high burn rate. In a statement on Saturday by its spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, the NNPCL said it was reacting to a viral video claiming that its petrol does not last long in fuel tanks. Our correspondent reports that a video had surfaced online where a content creator claimed he bought a litre of Dangote petrol from MRS filling station in Alapere, Lagos, at N925 and the same litre at NNPC in Ojodu Berger at the rate of N945. IG warns officers against carrying guns in mufti, violating human rights

 The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has issued a stern warning to officers of the Nigeria Police Force against carrying rifles while dressed in civilian attire (mufti) and engaging in human rights violations. According to a statement released on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IG gave the directive during a virtual meeting with senior strategic managers at the Force Headquarters.
