2027 Presidential election choice and Northern Permutations

Image
Want To Get First Let us admit first and foremost that it’s shameful that not up to two years after the 2023 disastrous Yakubu Mahmood organised “technical glitch infested” presidential election, the cry is loud from a lot of quarters about which section should produce the next President of Nigeria. It shows that most of these idle politicians do not have a second address. Even where some of them worked previously in some other capacities in some other businesses, they normally do not venture back to such businesses after being exposed to the illicit corrupt money that corrupt politicians acquire while in power in Nigeria. Little wonder Aristotle said that appetite for material things and other self-centered desires tend to pervert office holders. They can no longer be used to the gradual incremental nature of the profit from genuine business enterprise. They will rise and die as politicians and probably go to hell for their atrocities. Aristotle opined that man when perfected, is the ...

Reacting to these endorsements, Lagos PDP spokesperson Hakeem Amode dismissed the idea, stating, “Lagos will not serve him.” He criticised the notion of governance being treated as a family inheritance and warned that any attempt to impose Seyi Tinubu as governor would face strong resistance. “Governorship is not a gift,” Amode told Punch, emphasising that Lagosians had already shown their disapproval of the Tinubu political dynasty during the last presidential election by voting against President Tinubu. Amode reiterated that many Lagosians rejected Tinubu during the presidential election, a signal that they would not support his son’s governorship aspirations. Source : Vanguard News
